Il neolitico

Circa 4000 anni fa, gli uomini trovarono nei pressi di Vaie, un luogo ideale per
vivere al riparo dalle intemperie, praticando la pastorizia, la caccia e
la tessitura.
Il "riparo rumiano" sottolinea la bellezza e la
caratteristica del luogo che si raggiunge tramite una facile passeggiata di
circa un'ora.

Around 4,000 years ago men discovered that the
Vaie area was an ideal sheltered spot to live, raise sheep, hunt and do
their weaving.
The "riparo rumiano"
reveals the beauty of this characteristic place and is about an hour’s
comfortable walk away.

La curia

Già
nel 1200 si hanno notizie di Vaies e della curia di San Vincenzo (chiesa
romanica di cui si
intravedono ancora due absidi sotto il Santuario).
Nel 1240 il
signor Acquabianca acquistava dall'Abate della Chiusa di san Michele (la
Sacra) castani, prati ed anche fabbricati usati da magazzini
e da ricovero per persone ed animali in transito verso oltr'alpe

As early as 1200 there
are references to Vaies and the San Vincenzo curia (Romanesque church of
which two apses are still just visible under the Sanctuary).
In 1240
Acquabianca bought chestnuts, fields and also constructions - used for
storage and to lodge people and animals on their way over the Alps -
from the Abbot of the Chiusa of San Michele (the Holy).

Nel 1750 viene costruita nel centro del paese la nuova chiesa dedicata
a santa Margherita.
Qui si svolgono le funzioni e le attività parrocchiali.

San
Pancrazio
|
|
Sulle rovine della vecchia chiesa,
abbandonata verso il 1850, viene edificato il
nuovo santuario dedicato a San Pancrazio, con il cimitero ed alcune case
che servivano da abitazione ai monaci della chiesa.
Oggi la chiesa viene gestita dai Priori, che provvedono alla sua cura ed alla
manutenzione

A new sanctuary dedicated to San Pancrazio was
built on the ruins of the old church - abandoned around 1850 - along
with the cemetery and some houses for the parish priests.
Priors now look after the church
and take care of its maintenance. |

festeggiamenti del Santo (12 maggio), per matrimoni e occasioni
particolari
